2. This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics or advertising services and loads no content from third parties (not even fonts). It is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data – IP address, time, page requested, browser identifier – to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; a data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. The same applies to the program downloads.

3. Purchase

Purchases in the online shop are handled by Polar Software Inc. (USA) as reseller. Polar processes the data needed for the order, payment, invoice and taxes under its own responsibility; the Polar privacy policy applies. We receive name, email address, company, country and order details from Polar in order to manage the license and to reach you if you have questions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep invoice-related data for as long as commercial and tax law require.

4. License activation in the program

The program itself does not transmit any videos or check results. Only to activate a license key bought in the shop and to confirm it about every 30 days does it send the key, the computer name, an anonymous device identifier (a hash from which the computer cannot be derived) and the program version to Polar. This serves to limit the number of computers per license (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Our own offline keys and the trial period work without any transmission.

5. Email

If you write to us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed and no retention obligation applies.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Please contact the email address above. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
